Model Casting Call ~ Kitchener
March 12th Thanks for checking out our call! For our second year, we're running a series of ads in the Community Edition, a popular KW publication that's well-loved (and well-distributed) throughout the community. We're looking for some new faces to feature in these ads, and also to share on our social media pages. If you're interested, here are some details! Is it paid? This will be a TFP gig, which means "time for prints." In other words, you volunteer your time and talent, and we'll put you in an upcoming ad in the Community Edition. We'll also provide you with some images for your own portfolio as well, most likely after your ad runs, or concurrently. When will the ads run? The ads are planned to run March, April, May, June, and hopefully July before the fest. Each ad will be different, so we're hoping to have around 4 to 6 models join us. When? MARCH 12th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. is our available time at the studio...not all models are required for the full three hours. Where? We'll be shooting at the world famous Commons Studio in downtown Kitchener...256-B King Street East, Kitchener, ON More specifically, we'll be shooting in The Cove, and amazing space in the basement of the Studio. We've posted a photo of the space to the right. Hair and Makeup? There will be no hair or makeup provided. Theme? Idea of the shoot? The shoot is going to be amazing, as the wall to wall white space is perfect for the vibe we're going for. See the above photo of Victoria? We want to create similar shots for this campaign. Picture this...vintage slides from the 1970's (like the highway above) projected behind you, beside you, and over you using that white wall. The slides will differ, creating different looks, but think 70's retro, cool vibrant colours, very bohemian style. And we're trying to bring some retro props like old camcorders, rotary phones, vintage cameras to have on set as well. Check out Instagram to get an idea of our overall (current) aesthetic. Photographer? Festival founder David Briggs will photograph the session. David runs Distant Field Productions, which makes horror movies and music videos, and his photography and design work have appeared in GoreNoir Magazine, RueMorgue, Exclaim!, SCREAM magazine and others. Deadline to apply? We'd love to hear from anyone interested by April 30th, as the shoot is on the March 12th. We'll get back to you on March 1st or sooner! Contact us at [email protected] or via our Instagram. And yes, we know shooting on a Tuesday isn't ideal for most. If you can't make it out, that will be awesome. Thanks! |
